Abstract
Natural histories of disease processes between discitis and disc degenerative disease are different. But slowly progressing, low virulent pathogen originated discitis can mimick back pain of typical disc degeneration disease at an early stage. We report preoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings of discitis which was proven by bone marrow biopsy and culture. When the patient shows aggravating back pain in spite of approately arranged conservative managements, follow-up MRI is needed to review the radiologic changes.
